Sitting here gagging on the Greektown Gyro! I love actual Gyros but this chip tastes like dirt.

Sharon,

There's laws for that. If they are violating them, report to Metro.

Otherwise, ask one of your 15 friends to drop you off in front.

Daily's = McDonalds=Chipotle=Chick Fila=every other franchise based business. I bet none of you EVER patronize any of them.

I love how someone else is supposed to eat non-payment of rent for years on end. Y'all should have been paying $10 a gallon for milk; you have been subsidized by someone who doesn't pay his bills.

That said, something like the Purple Cow is what should have gone at 46th and Utah in Sylvan Park, where an abortion of brand-new building is awaiting semi-demolition.

It was my first time going and it LOVED it. I thought I'd just eat a bunch of cheese and go home, but some of the offerings were so tasty I had to have more.

wow. Really throwing a lot of restaurants under the bus with that 'every mediocre restaurant between White Bridge Road and Pasquo" comment.

So is Catbird going to be just a stepping stone? Do a coupla years, prove you can play that game, then move on?

Taziki'z is rubbish - there is very little Greek in it. Worse, they offer french fries (rather, clumsy wedges of potato) with their meal.

TL--I think that's not necessarily their business plan, but an inevitability. Any chef they hire will either move on after a year or two to work at an even higher-profile restaurant or open their own.

Megan--ha, I bought the Lemon Fig Fresca and Halloumi, too! I would have bought the Cottonseed, but it was sold out.

At last, we can have some coffee!

Soon, all we will have here is places to buy liquids--coffee, beer, whislkey, wine, name it.

Looks like Revelator's slick "Born in New Orleans, we're southern" marketing is a bunch of b.s.:

http://dailycoffeenews.com/2014/03/31/startup-revelator-coffee-reveals-aggressive-plans-for-southern-growth/

In particular, I love this not at all condescending quote:

“Our theory is that a lot of people have developed coffee in the Northeast and Northwest, but not a lot of people have put money into the South,” says Revelator President Josh Owen, a lawyer who comes to the coffee world with years of advertising and brand-building experience. “I think people like Blue Bottle will eventually realize there’s a lot of money to be made investing in the South.

Nobody knows the South better than a "retail activation PR team" out of Phoenix:

Actually, the coffee all comes from South America and Africa, so it really is Southern. 8^)
