Makes sense and I may do that. I'm fond of Craft Brewed, but I've never ventured into the liquor side of the operation.

Further, I don't know how long you've been around, but some of us here are just glad that the recognition that comes with restaurants such as Biscuit Love making national headlines (and the TV show) has GREATLY reduced the number of times we get asked if we wear shoes or have indoor plumbing.

put anything but BLT on a BLT and i'm not interested. this doesn't count mayo, and a BLT calls for good old white bread.

We went to Collier's BBQ in McMinnville this week (surprisingly vegetarian-friendly) and Mr. Eats had a BLT that was a brisket LT. He loved it. And the tomatoes were local, I believe the orange strawberry variety.

Nothing beats any thick bacon (agree that Benton's is too much for this sandwich), a homegrown tomato (I go with Bradley or Cherokee Purple usually, but any of a thousand varieties will suffice), and some Boston Bibb/Butter lettuce on lightly toasted bread (any sandwich bread will do). Sometimes a dash of Lawry's Seasoned Salt too.

For a really good traditional BLT, the Corner Pub in Green Hills knocks it out of the park. Lot's of bacon and local tomatoes when in season.

I agree with the Benton's comment, I like to put vinegar hot pepper on mine with jersey tomatoes

Memory does not serve correctly, D. Patrick - the Mitchell BLT does not have sprouts, cheddar or avocado. And thank goodness.

@BP: Ah, I think I was somehow conflating the BLT with the Roast Beef and Cheddar. Think I'll have to go back in and do some research.

I've known Arnold for years and this has always been his dream. I've voted for our hometown boy and I hope others do as well.

They're all good in their own way; too bad they couldn't hire all three of them to do a single show....I've been a patron of PM and mom's place across the street for years and am pulling for Arnold, of course, but yes, he's gotta calm down a bit and pace himself. Less is usually more when you're on TV.

Maybe you should spell the contestants' names correctly in an update....

I screwed up my courage one day and told Alan Benton to his face that I thought his bacon was too smoky to eat, but that I do love to cook with it. I order his unsmoked version, which you used to be able to buy at Lazzaroli's.
