Maybe even just a little positive notice from the Scene might have made the difference in helping this place make it. Maybe instead of TWO lengthy pieces in the past few months raving about the totally vile and embarassing fake-ski lodge in 12 South.
THIS was the cool, genuinely neighborhood place that you tried so hard to make that out to be (That place is a blight on its neighborhood, and belongs in a shopping mall if at all.)
More places like this would continue to make Nashville a cooler and more interesting place.

I'm very familiar with Chef Herget's hearty embrace of a wide variety of food origins. I have been a fan of his culinary expertise since his days in Miami.

Really going to lean into the open thread theme and mention that I went to Jack Brown's in Germantown last Friday. I got the basic cheeseburger which was just bun, cheese, special sauce (definitely mayo, ketchup mustard, mix) and crinkle cut fries on the side.

Candy is not one of my go-to cravings, that would be the 3 C'S: chocolate, cookies and cake, but this still sounds amazing. Green tea kit kats and roly poly Russian bears, I call that a box o' yum.

The Gold Rush was the site of my favorite ever random comment from someone at a neighboring table. Having overheard my group's conversation, this wide-eyed young thing asked: "Are you guys from Science Fiction?"

It's sad to see another great local hangout, such as Madeline's, have to close their doors, but there's certainly no need, NOTHANKS, to disparage other local restaurateur's concept &/or the Scene's decision to write about them. I'm sure you've been to Embers Ski Lodge to have such a negative view of it, but if not, I suggest you go & check it out!
