I guess my objection to this argument is the use of the word "unfriendly." Any restaurateur who is truly unfriendly to any segment of his clientele probably won't be open very long, and all of these restaurants are doing quite well.

Start working at home with Google! It's by-far the best job I've had.

"Actually, I just tell people to go to Memphis for barbecue."

Nashville was voted #1 city in the nation for barbecue. I'm just saying.

Seriously, how could you overlook a place called Butchertown Hall for an article like this?

Well, probably because (despite the name) Butchertown Hall actually does offer quite a few vegetarian options...

Todd--I know, right? But like Pogo said, Butchertown Hall has several vegetarian and even vegan options.

ML Rose. Their menu has about 34 items.

I'm a dreaded omnivore and get the black bean salad at M.L. Rose pretty regularly.

I Dream of Weenie has zero vegetarian items on the menu (I watched some sad vegetarians walk away one Sunday afternoon, but I directed them to Five Points Pizza, which always has a rotating veggie slice available,) but their menu is pretty niche.

Went to Butcher & Bee this weekend, and their menu is close to 80% vegetarian. Well, assuming you're okay with fish sauce.

I wouldn't say Nashville as a whole has many options for vegetarians compared to other cities of our size, although it is getting better! It's true that I would never step foot in a BBQ spot and expect them to have something for me. I'd pray for macaroni and cheese but couldn't hold it against them for not accommodating.

Erica--I do think it's getting better, too. I've never really had a problem getting a good vegetarian meal here at all in the 15 years I've been a vegetarian, though.

Far East Nashville is a go-to for solid comfort food. The Pho is tasty, wings have been so good, solid Tofu Curry, the Bun FarEast is fantastic, and my favorite is the number 34 Bo Luc Lac (Shakey Beef).

Saturday:
Brunch:
Brisket and Duck Pastrami Sliders at Cochon Butcher
Coal-baked eggs with avocado AND chorizo at Butchertown Hall
Funky monkey crepe at Red Bicycle
Dinner:
Tacos: The Tree House
Charcuterie: Tenn Sixteen

Don't judge.
