    Nellie,
The parking lots at Olive Garden and Chili's are usually full. I wouldn't eat at either of them but they keep opening new ones.

I was thankful to find a growler of Mantra's Saffron/Cardamom IPA at Frugal's to pair perfectly with my bird. Bonus: a 64 oz.

Or Mike, do we need more value haircut places? Every place Granberry puts up seems to have some place to get a haircut.

Ms Lassiter, Please visit a Title 1 school and see if it is the same. My wife teaches at one and I have been there multiple times.

To be clear, Double Dogs is a "small chain" owned by Rafferty's. And the food is just as bad, all frozen Sysco junk served up in spaces that have all the charm of a Best Buy TV department.

File this under "nobody asked, but..."
Last year's soiree was a big dud - they ran a contest for ugliest sweater, and took pictures as people came and went *if you reminded them* and then apparently awarded the owners' friends the goods because they were still there at the end. or that's how it seemed when you looked at the pics posted later.

I am outraged that any reporter includes his statements about the ACA predicating closure without asking him how the other locations must be exempt from the same requirement. You would think that even in restaurant biz reporting circles, everyone knows if something smells it should be thrown out.

kind of an interesting karmic twist given the HG Hill stores essentially lost out to out of state chains...

You people really have some bad reading and deductive reasoning skills.

ACA applies to companies with 50+ employees.

From the Tennessean: "Noshville's employees will shrink from about 80-90 to about 30 once the Broadway location is closed, Loventhal said. "

Closing one location brings the total workforce for all Noshvilles under the threshold for the mandate.

    ---------------------------

This is not a comment on underlying motivations (i.e., sale of the building or political leanings).

I also bought tea towels from The Nashville Food Project, which will pair with notes informing recipients that donations to various organizations have been made in their honor.

The aforementioned fruit cake from Karla Ruiz will be available at Conexion Americas holiday bazaar tomorrow (along with pepita bread, which is fantastic). Also, the folks who bring you the Greek Festival at the Greek Orthodox church on Franklin Road are having a bake sale today and tomorrow with holiday goodies.

IABT in a previous statement, Loventhal stated that customers would see "many familiar faces," which implied that employees were moving to the other locations. His statement about the size of his workforce was not included in his statement.
