Dino's serves food until 2:30 most nights, and sometimes later. Fries, burgers, various grilled items (the Damn Sandwich, fully loaded, is my recommendation), and they have hot chicken now.

Two Boots Pizza is open til 3:30 a.m. on weekends. Crazy scene after 2, filled with drunk Vandy students and spillover from the Division Street bar district.

Knockout Wings on Jefferson is open until 2 a.m.

Also, I'll stump for my favorite pizza slice in the city right now: the Dante's hot chicken at Pizza Perfect, which stays open til midnight in summer. Thin slivers of breast meat on a tongue-tingling habanero sauce topped with onion, spinach, tomato, and chewy, chunky nuggets of thick-sliced bacon.

As I mentioned in the original Twitter convo, we have recently become enamored of Duke's, which has gone in where Nuvo Burrito used to be behind Marché. It's a bar, and a hipsterish one, but not tragically so.

The whole purpose of a "farmer's market" is to provide a place for local farmers, not just random "vendors", to in turn, provide a place for people wanting to support their farmers and know where their food comes from, people that genuinely care about what they are consuming and feeding their families. When you buck the system that puts profit over people, you are usually going to piss a lot of people off because no one wants to own up to the fact that maybe somewhere along the way, we as a society, have gone off course on what we will tolerate and buy into.

As a local farmer who tried to get a booth at the Franklin market and was shut out due to all the booths being taken by vendors instead of farmers, I say Gardner has the right idea! Farmer's markets are supposed to be for FARMERS!

As a regular customer at the Franklin Farmers Market, I enjoy the mix of farmers, bakers, other food stuffs and some artisans. As an example, I love that I can buy my veggies, milk and meat and then get local pasta, bread, and dessert to create a full meal in one trip.

@Real Farmer,
That sucks. I wish you could get a stall, I'm more interested in local produce and proteins than I am baked goods and peaches from Alabama.
